New Delhi: With thousands of Uttar Pradesh farmers gathering in the Capital to stage protests, traffic has come to a complete halt in many of the border entry points. The farmers are protesting against the acquisition of their land for the Yamuna Expressway project.
Police have warned of traffic congestion at various places in the city.
The farmers are arriving in Delhi via the Ghaziabad, Noida, Loni and Faridabad borders, so their procession is expected to affect traffic at Rajghat, JLN Marg, Barakhamba Road, K G Marg, Janpath, Ranjit Singh Marg and Tolstoy Marg.
The movement to New Delhi Railway Station through Ajmere Gate may also be affected with congestion expected at Ajmere Gate, Darya Ganj, Chandni Chowk and surrounding areas.
