Aonla:
It's Maneka Gandhi versus Mayawati once again. After BJP candidate Varun Gandhi was stopped from holding a rally on Sunday in his mother's constituency Aonla, Maneka lashed out at the UP Chief Minister.
The administration has refused permission, saying the rally could be communally sensitive. But the news did not dampen the welcome he got at another rally in the tiny hamlet of Puranpur.
His stint in jail is now a trophy, something he did for the people of Pilibhit, he claims. But do people agree with what he has to say about true friends?
Varun is getting a good response, people flock to hear him; for many he is the Hindu yuva samrat.
But as he pushes deeper into his constituency, Varun's message is clearer - it's a cocktail of religion and patriotism.
"All the people who are here should cast their vote and help strengthen our country," Varun said in his rally.
For Varun, it's a long journey he may have toned down the vitriol but the idea is the same.
