Hathras Stampede:
Thousands of people pressed into a small area, and then people began falling like nine pins, getting crushed under the weight of the crowd. Post-mortem reports of some of the victims of the Hathras tragedy, in which 121 people were killed, have revealed that, just like in other stampedes, the deaths were largely caused by chest injuries and suffocation.

The other causes of the deaths in the 21 post-mortems conducted so far have been found to be head injuries, shock and haemorrhage.

On stampede accident, Hathras sub-divisional magistrate has written the district's magistrate and said, "Narayan Hari Sarkar reached the venue at 12.30 pm and the event went on for an hour. When the baba left the venue, people started rushing towards him to seek his blessings.

"A large number of people were already standing on the divider at the GT road and started running towards baba.
