The newly-elected district panchayat chiefs in Uttar Pradesh will be sworn-in on Thursday, an official said today.
All divisional commissioners and district magistrates have been issued instructions regarding it. Preparations for the swearing-in are underway, Principal secretary, Panchayati Raj, Chanchal Tiwari, said.
Last week, the polling for the high-stake posts was conducted in 74 districts except Noida.

Mr Tiwari also said the first meeting of the newly-elected district panchayat chiefs would be held soon after the swearing-in. The tenure of the incumbent panchayat chiefs will end on Wednesday.
