UP Train Derailment Live Updates: A rescue team is on the way for relief operations.
Several coaches of the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh express train derailed in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda today. Three passengers died in the incident while around 20 are injured. Out of 23, 21 coaches of the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh express train derailed, icluding five AC coaches. Several rescue teams have reached for relief operations.
The accident happened in Pikaura which is located between Gonda and Jhilahi in Uttar Pradesh. Gonda District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police have reached the accident site.
Several trains have been diverted due to the accident.

Visuals from the site showed passengers standing around helplessly. "I had a close shave, glad to be safe. Don't worry I am fine," a passenger who survived said. Videos from the site showed people taking their luggage from derailed coaches. One coach had flipped, on which some passengers were standing.

Assam Government Says In Touch With Authorities On Dibrugarh Express DerailmentAfter several coaches of the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express derailed near Jhilahi Railway Station in UP's Gonda, the Assam Chief Minister's office said that the Assam CM is monitoring the situation.
"Dr Himanta Biswa has been briefed about the derailment of the Dibrugarh - Chandigarh express in Uttar Pradesh. HCM is monitoring the situation, and the Government of Assam is in touch with relevant authorities," said an official release by the Assam Chief Minister's office.
Pankaj Singh, CPRO, North Eastern Railway, told news agency ANI, "One death has been reported, and there are 7 injured, including one severely injured."

"Narrow Escape," Says Passenger Standing Beside 4 Derailed CoachesA passenger who survived the derailment of four coaches of a passenger train in Uttar Pradesh today posted a video in which he is heard saying he escaped the accident narrowly.
Four coaches of the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express derailed in UP's Gonda district, killing a passenger. Two others were injured.
The survivor, standing beside the four air-conditioned coaches that have come off the tracks, said in the video: "I escaped narrowly. Please don't worry about me. I am safe."
