Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will pay a two-day visit to Bihar from June 15

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be on a two-day visit to Bihar from June 15 to inform people about the achievements of the Modi government in the past three years.

On June 15, Yogi Adityanath will address a public meeting at Darbhanga and the following day he would address a function in Patna. He will also inaugurate a 'Modi fest' in the state capital the same day, state BJP chief Nityanand Rai told reporters today.

The ruling BJP has planned a grand 'Modifest' or 'Making of Developed India' in 900 cities across the country between May 26 to June 15 to highlight the central government's achievements in the three years of the Narendra Modi government.

It will be Mr Adityanath's first visit to Bihar as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

Although the visit comes ahead of Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Lalu Yadav's 'maha rally' on August 27 which will be to showcase grand unity of non-BJP parties at national level, the BJP did not appear to pitch Yogi Adityanath's rally as a show of strength as well.

Mr Rai said the party would hold 'Modi fest' in 15 districts to showcase the "great work" done by the central government.

"While in three years of Narendra Modi government the country is touching new heights, Bihar is moving towards ruin under Nitish Kumar," he said.

After his party's shocking defeat in the October-November 2015 Bihar Assembly polls, BJP President Amit Shah has decided to use Mr Adityanath to counter the Lalu-Nitish alliance, party leaders say.
