Amid outcry over spiraling pulse prices Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today directed officials to ensure availability of 'arhar dal' at reasonable price through state depots and take stern action against hoarders.
As per the directives given by the Chief Minister lentil at cheaper rates would be provided through depots of Uttar Pradesh State Employees Welfare Corporation and ration cards, an official spokesman said in a statement issued in Lucknow.
During a high level review meeting the Chief Minister expressed concern over unprecedented hike in prices of lentils.
He said that controlling food price inflation was the task of the Centre and the state government was taking measures to provide relief to the people.
The Chief Minister also directed the officials to take stern action against hoarders and profiteers.
