Centre is not providing required coal for power generation, claims the UP government.
Lucknow:
Officials of the Uttar Pradesh government will assess coal shortage in the state on a daily basis and inform the Centre by posting the information on Twitter, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today said.
"The industry in the state cannot progress without power; the power crisis in the state today is only because the Centre is not providing the required coal. The Centre has not yet replied to this complaint of the state government," the chief minister said.
"We will tell our officials to assess the coal shortage on a daily basis and inform the Centre by posting it on Twitter", he said in his address at an entrepreneurs' convention in Lucknow.
The Chief Minister, while promising all facilities for entrepreneurs, said that from next month he would fix one day every month for meeting with entrepreneurs to solve their problems.
"I will try to meet entrepreneurs one day every month. Next month I will fix one day. Entrepreneurs can directly come and meet me, the chief secretary and other senior officials who would be present will immediately solve their problems", he said.
He also stressed on making a "single-window clearance system" for micro, small and medium enterprises a reality.
Emphasising on the importance of industry, he said the countries which had taken agriculture and industry along have developed in the world and added that besides bringing new industry, it was also important to ensure that the existing industries should flourish.
Mr Yadav also said that his government "promptly" provided land for AIIMS in Rae Bareli after coming to power, unlike the previous government which was "punished by the electorate for their attitude".
