New Delhi:
Tourism Ministry has announced a financial package of Rs 100 crore for rebuilding tourism infrastructure destroyed in devastating floods in Uttarakhand, Rajya Sabha was informed today.
Besides, the Ministry has already sanctioned Central Financial Assistance of about Rs 95 crore for various tourism infrastructure projects in the state in the current financial year, Tourism Minister K Chiranjeevi said in a written reply in Rajya Sabha.
The state government has also prioritised projects to cost around Rs 58 crore for development of tourism infrastructure in the state during the current financial year.
According to the state government, a rehabilitation and revival of tourism package is being prepared by the state.
The package will include tax exemptions, livelihood support, media campaign and development of new destinations, medium and long term reconstruction and new construction of tourism infrastructure with features of disaster preparedness, mitigation, relief and rescue.
