In less than 12 hours, the Uttarakhand police has arrested two out of the six men accused of gang-rape of a 27-year-old woman from West Bengal.
The woman from Darjeeling had come to Dehradun to search for her friend a few days back. She claims she was gang-raped by six unknown men who robbed her money and mobile before being abandoned at a guest house in Kaplani, about 10 kilometres from the hill station, Mussoorie.
Acting swiftly, the police took the guest house staff into custody for further interrogation. With the victim helping the police in giving relevant information, the police was able to crack the case in less than 12 hours of filing the complaint.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police of Dehradun, Pushpak Jyoti, two accused, both home guards have been arrested. More teams have been sent to arrest the other four people who were involved in the crime.
A case has been filed under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code for gang-rape and dacoity, but for the woman from West Bengal, it will be long before her scars will heal.
