Vadodara:
Security has been intensified in the walled city areas of Vadodara after intermittent clashes broke out between two communities on Friday and Saturday.
Incidents of arson and stone-pelting were reported from Yakutpura and Nagarwada areas of the city late on Saturday and police had to use tear gas to disperse the rioting mob.
The clashes were reportedly triggered by a post on Facebook, which members of a particular community found blasphemous. Police have stalled internet services in the city to prevent -- what it claims - is 'rumour-mongering' through social media.
The police also carried out search operations late on Saturday and arrested nearly a 100 miscreants.
Senior police officials have been camping in the area to keep the situation under control.
Officials said that jawans of the Rapid Action Force or RAF have also been deployed in the affected localities.
