New Delhi: A day after the bomb blast in Varanasi, sources from the forensic team that was on the blast site, have indicated that ammonium nitrate was used in the Varanasi blast hinting towards a possible Indian Mujahideen involvement. However, no other details on the nature of the explosive have been revealed.
The explosion that occurred at the Sheetla Ghat, near the main ghat where daily aarti or prayers are offered, killed a one-and-a-half year old child and left 25 people injured.
UK Bansal, the Secretary (internal security) later confirmed that explosion was of "medium intensity".
Home Minister P Chidambaram has left for the Varanasi to assess the ground situation.
