Varun Gandhi has written to the Election Commission again, but this time about his security concerns. He has cited an intelligence bureau report talking about threat to his life.
In the letter, Varun said that he is being targetted and has requested the UP government to review and upgrade his security.
Varun's letter further said that his security is being compromised due to petty political issues.
Earlier, Varun had informed the Pilibhit district Collectorate that he will be filing his nomination on April 22.
He had written a letter to the EC earlier also stirring things. In his earlier letter, he had demanded that the Pilibhit District Magistrate and SP be transferred as he expects them to be partisan.
Varun also asked that a neutral observer be appointed for his nomination.
He may be out on a parole, but Varun hogs the limelight wherever he goes. He had also met with BJP leader LK Advani and got some good advice from the veteran leader.
During the nearly hour-long meeting, Varun is understood to have expressed his gratitude to the party for having stood by him "staunchly in his hour of crisis".
