Jaipur: Congress today hit out at the BJP government in Rajasthan saying Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and her party leaders were indulging in "political vendetta" targeting the Opposition and interfering with working of probe agencies, thus tarnishing the state's image.

Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also asked the government to probe corruption allegations against it.

"Raje government is doing nothing but working with the agenda of political vendetta by trying to implicate the Congress leaders in false cases and image of the state has tarnished due to this," Mr Gehlot said.

"The CM has no right to interfere in the agency's probe. But unfortunately, it is being done," Mr Gehlot said in Jaipur.

"Officers are being pressurised to divert public attention as there are serious allegations of corruption against them and that PM Narendra Modi was getting exposed on his tall promises," he said.

"All such decisions are being taken at the Chief Ministerial level who through her 'gang' (or group of close people) is directing and pressurising officers to take steps against Congress leaders," the Congress leader said.

Mr Gehlot even challenged Ms Raje to get her properties those owned by her family as well as him (Gehlot) and his family assessed by an independent commission in order to make things clear.

"It was Congress government which worked transparently. We introduced several Acts like Right to Public Hearing and took other decisions to bring transparency in functioning which is not in the present BJP regime," he said.

Mr Gehlot said that it should also be investigated that corruption in Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) and Urban Development and Housing (UDH) department flourished in which government's rule, BJP or Congress.
