Very Little Business In Bihar Legislature As Opposition Protests

Scenes of members pushing and shoving each other were witnessed in the Bihar Assembly.

Patna:

The Bihar legislature today transacted very little business with ruling as well as opposition legislators trooping into well at both the houses in support of their demands.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was not present in either of the house. He had gone to his native place Kalyan Bigha to pay respect to his departed father on his death anniversary.

In state Legislative Assembly, as the House sat for the day, JD(U), RJD and Congress members came into the well and started raising slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

BJP members too rushed to the well in support of its adjournment notice on law and order situation.

Unruly scenes were witnessed with members pushing and shoving each other.

In the midst of intense protest, Congress MLA Ramdeo Rai and some from BJP and RJD were seen standing on reporters' table.

The Speaker first adjourned the House till 12 O'clock.

Earlier, even before Speaker Vijay Kumar Chaudhary came in the House, MLAs of ruling as well as opposition parties had gathered around reporters' table and raised slogans against each other.

The scene was no better after the house reassembled and the Speaker was forced to adjourned it again till 2 PM.

Pandemonium prevailed when the house resumed. Though grand alliance legislators were together in the well but they had their different agendas.

Senior JD(U) leader and deputy leader of the house Shyam Rajak told reporters outside the Assembly that they were protesting purchase of land by BJP for opening their offices in districts allegedly out of black money in higher denomination of Rs 1000 and Rs 500 notes.

He demanded CBI probe into the land purchase by BJP in Bihar.

Lalu Prasad's RJD members demanded the PM to fulfill his "poll promise of providing Rs 15 lakh each in the bank accounts of people by bringing black money from outside."

Congress members vented their anger against BJP members for their alleged uncharitable remarks against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi yesterday in Legislative Council.
