A struggling actor has been arrested for allegedly giving death threat to actors Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal through social media, the Mumbai police said. A case has been registered at Mumbai's Santacruz police station.
The actor, identified as Manvinder Singh is from Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow, and was struggling to get work in films and TV series in Mumbai. The accused is a fan of Katrina Kaif.
According to the police, the actors were getting threats on Instagram and the accused was also stalking Katrina Kaif and threatening her.
Based on the complaint, the Santacruz police here have registered an FIR against the man under Indian Penal Code Sections 506-II (criminal intimidation) and 354-D (stalking), the official said.
The police have also registered a case under the IT Act.
