A girl mysteriously showed up wounded and bleeding near a government guest house in Uttar Pradesh's Kannauj after CCTV cameras caught her walking with a man. The 13-year-old girl was unconscious and covered in blood when she was found hours after she left home on Sunday.
The police have registered a case of rape on a complaint by her family though a medical report is still not in.
The disturbing story is emerging through a series of videos.
The worst of these clips shows the girl writhing in pain, apparently reaching out for help with her blood-soaked arms, as a group of men stands around her, filming her on phones. In the 25-second video, voices discuss whether the police have been alerted but there is no attempt to help the girl.
A second video, which also went viral, showed a policeman running to an autorickshaw with the injured girl in his arms.
The teen left home to exchange a piggy bank on Sunday afternoon and didn't return for five hours, her uncle has said in an FIR. She was spotted in the bushes near the guest house by a guard, who alerted the police.
She was unconscious and had multiple injuries, including a serious head wound. Her family said they suspected she may have been sexually assaulted.
The police are looking for the man seen on security footage talking to her. He allegedly took her to the guest house.
"The minor girl was found in an injured condition and the local police rushed her to the hospital for treatment," said Superintendent of Police Kunwar Anupam Singh in a statement.
