A fire broke out in the engine and two coaches of the Saharanpur-Delhi passenger train today during its halt at the Daurala station in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh.
In a video shared by news agency ANI on Twitter, passengers were seen pushing the train in a bid to separate the rest of the compartments from the engine and two compartments on which the fire broke out.
The video shows several passengers, along with the railway station staff, pushing the train away from the blazing coaches and the engine in order to prevent the spread of fire and avert a tragedy.
Later, firefighters doused the fire at the Daurala station, officials said, adding that rail traffic was briefly disrupted. No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident and the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, they said.
