'Immersive Experience': Passenger On Water Leaking In Air India Cabin

New Delhi:

Passengers of an Air India flight going from London to Amritsar had an unpleasant experience when water started leaking from the overhead hand baggage storage. Air India in a statement said it "regrets this unexpected incident".

A man posted a video on X, formerly known as Twitter, showing how water dripping out from the panel gaps of the overhead storage fell on some of the seats.

"Air India... fly with us - it's not a trip; it's an immersive experience," the man said in the post, taking a swipe at the former government-run airline that was bought by Tata Sons in October 2021.

Tata Sons regaining control of Air India nearly 70 years after its nationalisation had raised hopes of better service delivery.

Air India in a statement said flight AI169 flying from Gatwick to Amritsar on November 24 had developed "a rare occurrence of condensation adjustment inside the cabin."

The airline said it moved the passengers from the affected rows to other vacant seats, and the crew made every effort to make them comfortable given the circumstances.

"Air India is committed to the safety and comfort of guests on board, and we regret this unexpected incident," Air India said in the statement.
