India is celebrating Vijay Diwas today. It is a day that makes every Indian proud. Vijay Diwas marks India's victory over Pakistan in the 1971 war, which resulted in the liberation of erstwhile East Pakistan and the creation of the new state of Bangladesh. On this day in 1971, the Chief of the Pakistani Forces, General Niazi along with 93,000 of his soldiers surrendered to the Indian forces. On Vijay Diwas today, President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers and others greeted the country's brave soldiers.
