Mumbai: Union Science and Technology Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, who died in Chennai this afternoon, will be cremated at his native Babhalgaon village in the Latur district of Maharashtra tomorrow, family sources said.
Mr Deshmukh had been diagnosed with liver cancer and was flown to Chennai last week by air ambulance, where his family hoped to organize a liver transplant for him.
He died of multi-organ failure.
His body will brought to Latur tomorrow and kept at his house in Babhalgaon from 9 am to 3 pm for people to pay their last respects, his brother Dilip Deshmukh said.
The funeral procession will start at 3 pm and the cremation will take place at 4 pm, he said.
