Vilasrao Deshmukh's condition critical but stable: Sources
Chennai: The condition of Union minister Vilasrao Deshmukh continues to be "critical but stable "according to sources at Global Hospitals in Chennai where he is being treated since Monday evening. Hospital sources add, "Mr Deshmukh continues to be on life support and is on a two-day observation since Tuesday."

The Deshmukh family, hospital authorities say, is not comfortable sharing details of his illness with the media and hence the hospital has not been issuing any medical bulletin. They say at this point "only the family can brief the media or communicate via social media on the minister's ailment and health condition".

Mr Deshmukh's son and daughter-in-law, actors Riteish and Genelia are at the hospital along with other family members.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithivraj  Chavan visited Mr Deshmukh at the hospital this afternoon.

Nagpur MP and former Union minister Vilas Muttemwar, who visited the hospital earlier to enquire about Mr Deshmukh's health, says, "His condition is improving. We are happy. Vilasrao is better compared to how he was at Breach Candy, Mumbai."

Union Minister of State for Coal Mr Patil and Mr Harshavarashan, Minister of Cooperation in Maharashtra, are among many who visited the former Chief Minister of  Maharashtra yesterday.
