Allahabad: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday reviewed preparations for the February 10 Shahi Snan at the Kumbh Mela in Allahabad and met devotees and holy men.
Mr Yadav walked through most sectors of Hindu congregation during his three-hour visit. He told the seers that the government was committed to a hassle-free Kumbh, officials said.
He visited sectors 9 and 10 where prominent seers are staying and asked officials to resolve the problems they were facing.
The chief minister later took a bird's eye view of the Kumbh from the Allahabad Fort. He also offered prayers.
He was accompanied by his uncle and Public Works Department Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav.
