Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today said her desire to organise the 10th Vishwa Hindi Sammelan (World Hindi Conference), which is all set to be held in Bhopal from September 10 to September 12, in a grand manner, is likely to be fulfilled.
"I am overwhelmed with preparations to organise the Vishwa Hindi Sammelan. When we got an opportunity to organise it, I thought of doing it in a grand and graceful manner. After reviewing preperations, I can say that things have turned out to be better than my expectations," she said.
"It appears as if Hindi is everywhere at the venue," she said, adding even noted writers were given their due place.
"The arena is very wide as well as beautiful," she said after taking a round of the venue with the Vice President of the Organising Committee and MP Anil Madhav Dave. Minister of State for External Affairs General (Retd) VK Singh said that the format of the Vishwa Hindi Sammelan is designed in a manner that it will help the Hindi language.
Incidentally, after the concept of organising Vishwa Hindi Sammelan was born in 1973 at Wardha, it was organised for the first time in Nagpur in 1975. Later, Delhi hosted it for the second time in 1983, an office bearer of the event said.
It was also held in Mauritius in 1976 and 1993, in Trinidad and Tobago in 1996, in London (1999), Surinam (2003), New York (2007) and Johannesberg (2012), he said.
