New Delhi:
Public land is not to be used for unauthorized religious buildings: clear orders from the Supreme Court.
The court has asked all state governments and union territories to implement this. States have also been asked to review any churches, temples and gurudwaras that were not sanctioned but have been built on public property. In each state, district collector and magistrates will work to implement these orders.
In July, the court had directed the centre to ensure that no religious institutions are built in public places. In response, the centre on Tuesday told the court that all chief secretaries of states have agreed to implement this order.
