Dehradun: The Central Board of Investigation (CBI) has arrested sub inspector G D Bhatt and another policeman in connection with the Dehradun fake encounter case.
The autopsy report of Ranbir Pal, an MBA student from Ghaziabad had 12 bullet marks and 27 other injures, suggesting that he may have been tortured before his death.
Ranbir was on a motorcycle with his two friends when the sub inspector stopped them at a check post. Ranbir and his friends allegedly snatched his service revolver and fled. Ranbir was gunned down in the chase that ensued while his two friends managed to escape.
The incident had taken place in Dalanwala area in Dehradun on July 3. The case was handed over to CBI by Uttrakhand Chief Minister after a series of protests.
The CBI did not find any criminal record of Ranbir in Uttarakhand, Ghaziabad or Meerut.
