Two construction workers were killed under a pile of concrete rubble after a building collapsed in south west Delhi's Satya Niketan area on Monday afternoon, said officials.
The dead have been identified as Bilal and Naseem.
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) was able to rescue five others.
A house collapse call was made to the police at around 1:25 on Monday afternoon. Six fire engines were rushed to the spot.
The house was undergoing repairs when it collapsed, said officials.
"This accident is very sad. The district administration is engaged in relief and rescue work. I myself am taking every information related to the incident," tweeted Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
As per the South Delhi Municipal Corporation Mayor Mukesh Suryan, the building was someone's house who wanted to get it repaired. He also added that it was in a danger zone, and the same was notified to the police and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate.
Earlier, videos showed firemen pushing a water bottle through a hole to the workers stuck under the rubble.
An excavator was clearing away the rubble as police manned the area.
As many as 25 teams of NDRF were involved in the rescue operation.
Atul Garg, Delhi Fire Service Chief, said that the rescue operation has been completed.
