New Delhi: The Prime Minister addressed the nation today in his second radio address titled 'Mann Ki Baat.' During his first radio address the PM had said he plans to hold regular radio chats with his fellow countrymen.

Here are the highlights of his second radio address:

  • My greetings to all of you.
  • I had shared some things with you in the last address. It is essential to change the mindset that everyone is bad.
  • Governments have to change the way they think.
  • I am seeing that the young India is committed to do something and he or she is even doing something.
  • I urged people to purchase Khadi last time. I never said become 'Khadiwadi' but I said buy some Khadi. There was increase in Khadi sale after that.
  • I was told that Khadi sales increased by almost 125 per cent.
  • A man wrote to me saying that when he was travelling by train he saw people collecting their garbage instead of throwing it around.
  • I am glad that people have decided that we will not let the nation become dirty.
  • Whoever is meeting me now, from all walks of life, they talk about doing something for society or serving society.
  • By cleaning the surroundings we are helping the poor the most. When the poor fall ill, it affects them a lot. We must serve the poor.
  • Today I also want to salute the jawans of the nation who are protecting the country. When the country was celebrating Diwali, I visited the soldiers in Siachen.
  • Today I want to share something and I am sure that people trust me when I say this.
  • It is about black money. Every penny of the money of the poor of India that has gone out will come back.
  • Please trust this Pradhan Sevak.
  • Nobody, not this government, not you, not the previous government knows exactly how much black money is stashed abroad.
  • From what I am understanding and the information I have, I am telling you that we are in the right direction.
  • I assure you that there will be no shortcomings in my effort. I want your blessings to remain prime minister. I will do everything I can.
  • I got a letter on the issue of drugs. I used to get this even earlier when I was not PM. I am going to talk about it in my next programme.
  • I appeal to you to share your experiences with me. We should all make efforts to curb this menace of drug abuse.
  • Cannot keep hiding things, we have to focus on these problems afflicting society.
  • Sharing your views for this show shows that you are concerned about India. I will try to speak to you next month.
  • The weather is changing. Winters are setting in. Some of you enjoy the food. I hope you will remain in good health.
