Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh on Thursday hinted at a possible tie-up of his party with Congress in the post-poll scenario "for the sake of secularism".
"Since we cannot go with the Third Front as Mayawati is already there, for the sake of secularism, we may be forced to look at Congress," Singh said while speaking to reporters in Ghaziabad.
The SP general secretary, however, added that his party's possible relationship with Congress "will be more on practical lines and it will not be a relationship of the heart".
Singh also said his party did not believe in playing communal politics and could move towards Congress.
Earlier in the day, SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav had said in Mainpuri that he would support anybody who would pull down Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government in Uttar Pradesh, which he described as "unconstitutional".
