Orange Alert For Hailstorm In 4 Districts Of Himachal
Heavy rain lashed parts of Shimla on Sunday, while hailstorm activity was reported from several areas of Himachal Pradesh, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue an orange alert for parts of the state.
According to the meteorological department, isolated places in Kangra, Kullu, Hamirpur and Shimla districts are likely to witness thunderstorms, light rainfall and hailstorm activity during the day.
Speaking to ANI, Shobhit Katiyar, Head of the Meteorological Centre, Shimla, said that weather conditions remained largely dry across most parts of Himachal Pradesh during the last 24 hours, with only light rainfall recorded at a few locations
Rain, Thunderstorms To Persist In Rajasthan
Thunderstorm and rainfall are likely in parts of Rajasthan this week under the influence of a western disturbance, the weather officer said on Monday.
According to the MeT, parts of Bikaner, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Ajmer, Kota and Jodhpur divisions are expected to witness rainfall over the next few days, accompanied by strong winds at 60 to 70 kmph.
During the 24 hours till Monday morning, several places in the state experienced thunderstorms and light to moderate rainfall. Khanpur in Jhalawar district recorded the highest rainfall at 51 mm.
Officials said the ongoing spell of rain and strong winds over the past few days has led to a drop in maximum temperatures across the state.
No heatwave conditions were recorded anywhere in Rajasthan during the 24-hour period, while Phalodi registered the highest maximum temperature at 42.8 degrees Celsius.

Light rain was witnessed in some parts of the city on Monday morning, with the weather office issuing a red and orange alert for thunderstorm and lightning.
Palam recorded 1.3 mm rainfall, while Ayanagar received 0.6 mm. Lodhi Road reported a trace of rainfall.
The minimum temperature remained above normal in several parts of the national capital.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Safdarjung observatory, the city's primary weather station, logged a minimum temperature of 28.2 degrees Celsius, 0.7 notches above normal.

The local meteorological station on Sunday issued a yellow warning for thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds with a speed of up to 50 kmph at isolated places in the mid and higher hills of Himachal.
The weather office also predicted a wet spell in the state till June 20.
Barring light scattered rains at isolated places, the weather remained mainly dry during the past 24 hours, and minimum temperatures dropped marginally.
Kukumseri was the coldest in the state with a low of 5.6 degrees Celsius, while Una was the hottest during the day, recording a high of 37 degrees Celsius.
