Bhopal:
Political sparring between the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) seems to have taken a "non-serious" twist.
Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh today hit back at BJP leader Uma Bharti, who had compared him to Shatrughan Sinha and said such leaders should be ignored.
"If Uma Bharti considers us to be non-serious, I would welcome her to the club," Mr Singh quipped.
Uma Bharti had earlier dragged the Congress leader into her criticism of party colleague Shatrughan Sinha for praising Bihar Chief Minister and former ally Nitish Kumar.
"The best thing to do with Digvijaya Singh and Shatrughan Sinha is to not respond to what they say, ignore them. That will in itself be a good punishment for them. If they are ignored they shut up on their own," said the firebrand leader.
Both leaders have a history of rivalry in Madhya Pradesh, a state they have both ruled in the past.
