Madan Mitra was arrested by the CBI for alleged complicity in the Saradha scam in December, 2014.
West Bengal Minister and Saradha chit fund scam accused Madan Mitra was admitted to a hospital in Kolkata today as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) moved Calcutta High Court seeking cancellation of his bail.
Mr Mitra was admitted to Woodlands Hospital around 10.30 am today, an official of the hospital said. He complained of uneasiness and was taken to the hospital in an ambulance from his residence at Bhowanipore area in south Kolkata.
Counsels for CBI mentioned before a division bench of the High Court as soon as the day's proceedings began at 10.30 am that it wanted leave to move a petition seeking cancellation of Mr Mitra's bail.
The bench presided by Justice Harish Tandon granted the permission to move the matter before it later in the day.
Mr Mitra, who was under treatment at state-run SSKM Hospital since February 11 owing to various illnesses, was granted bail by Alipore court on Saturday .
He was arrested by the CBI for alleged complicity in the Saradha scam in December, 2014.
