"Both in Assam and in Kerala, odds were heavily against us. It is not a question of winning or losing, but also the margins and the vote percentage. As long as we manage to give a very good fight that itself would be a very good point in favour of the Congress," says Sharmistha Mukherjee.

Trinamool Congress' Derek O'Brien on exit poll figures:
- I don't know what the numbers are but we will wait for the 19th.
- There has been a negative campaign run against us by the BJP, Cong-Left.
- There was a media-fixer in Calcutta who tried to do everything to prevent the TMC from winning
"As I understand there are couple of polls one of which show a narrow win for the LDF. I am not yet ready to write off the Congress. But if it turns out so, it will be because of current pattern of changing governments," says Shashi Tharoor.
In Kerala we have got the anti-incumbency factor. If the BJP was in the same position, they would have had to face the same situation. We are quite confident we will win in Assam, says Congress' Sharmistha Mukherjee.
If the BJP opens its account (in Kerala) it would mean they have proved themselves as a serious player, says Siddharth Vardarajan.
