Thiruvananthapuram: A day after Kerala Governor R S Gavai received a life threatening call, cops are keeping vigil outside the Raj Bhawan in Thiruvananthapuram. The caller, however, still remains unknown.
The call came from a booth in a Gulf country after the Governor gave the CBI green signal to prosecute CPM secretary Pinarayi Vijayan.
"The hi-tech cell is investigating the threat call case," said M Ajithkumar, Police Commissioner, Thiruvananthapuram.
Meanwhile, Kerala Chief minister V S Achuthanandan -- the man seen as Vijayan's rival within the CPM -- said the party Politburo and not his government will decide what to do next.
"The entire issue will be discussed at length by the Politburo and appropriate decision will be taken," he said.
The CBI is expected to file the charge sheet within a week, the time that Vijayan is using to figure out his next step.
Pinarayi Vijayan has an option to question the Governor's decision in court, but before that the former minister is apparently awaiting for a diktat from his colleagues in CPM Politburo.
