New Delhi:
Ranbir Kapoor's wallet was recently enriched by Rs 6,000 after Shah Rukh Khan kept his promise (reluctantly). Some hilarious public wrangling took place last week in which
Ranbir claimed a cash prize for naming Jab Harry Met Sejal - SRK's new film with Anushka Sharma - and SRK tweeted about not paying up. But later,
hisaab was
chukaoed. It was at director Imtiaz Ali's birthday bash that SRK cleared his dues (shelling out Rs 1,000 more than the promised reward of Rs 5,000) with Ranbir. The younger actor is thrilled, telling NDTV, "I got Rs 6,000 - it's something I value. I don't think I'll spend it. I'll probably give this to my grandchildren saying 'I got this from Shah Rukh Khan'." Probability of grandkids fainting - high.
But now that he has it, Ranbir's not going to share. Filmmaker Karan Johar is apparently entitled to a fourth of the reward, for supposedly suggesting the '
Jab' in the title, but no way is Ranbir Kapoor handing over Rs 1250 to him. "I think it's just very unfair that he's asking for credit here. He just changed 'when' to '
jab'. I don't think there's a big contribution to that." Sorry, Karan Johar.
This is how Shah Rukh had documented the '
hisaab barabar' moment with Ranbir. The picture is from Imtiaz Ali's birthday party last week:
He relented days after having cruelly tweeted this:
"I suggested
Jab Harry Met Sejal to SRK. I am going to Mannat (SRK's Mumbai home) to take the Rs 5,000 because it is my title," Ranbir had said while launching a song from
Jagga Jasoos, which, he told NDTV, is going to be "amazeballs."

Shah Rukh Khan's film, directed by Imtiaz Ali, has languished unnamed for months. It's working title was
The Ring and for a while it seemed like that had been discarded for
Rehnuma. The final name,
Jab Harry Met Sejal, was announced just weeks ago.
And if Karan Johar is fretting over Ranbir's refusal to give him a cut of the proceeds, he might find (scant) consolation in the fact that Alia Bhatt's suggestion was rejected outright:
Jagga Jasoos, directed by Anurag Basu and
co-starring Katrina Kaif, will see light of day next month after several delays and reschedulings.
Jab Harry Met Sejal releases on August 4.
