David Cameron enjoying vada's in Kolkata
Kolkata:
A roadside eatery in the city's Park Street on Thursday had an unusual visitor -- British Prime Minister David Cameron, who stopped by to savour a plate of crispy vadas.
A convoy of cars stopped at the "Chauhan Victoria Vada" as Mr Cameron stepped out of his car, asking for a plate of vadas.
Arjun, the proprietor of the shop, said officials of the British Deputy High Commission in Kolkata had earlier informed him of Mr Cameron's visit.
Mr Cameron paid Rs.30 in Indian currency as he took the plate of vadas, and his convoy zoomed away.
Mr Cameron, on a whirlwind visit to the eastern metropolis, the erstwhile British India capital, visited the iconic Howrah Bridge, participated in an interactive session with students of the Indian Institute of Management, and met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
