Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar flew together from Patna to Hajipur and shared the stage there.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who visited Patna today for his first visit to Bihar after his party's bitter defeat in the state elections in November last year, briefly shared the stage with his arch political rival and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The two later left for Hajipur in the same chopper.
PM Modi, who was the face of the BJP's campaign in Bihar last year, was received by Mr Kumar at the airport. The two shared the stage at the Patna High Court but sat at a distance from each other. As the programme concluded, they posed for a picture for the cameras after PM Modi walked up to Mr Kumar's side and appeared to say something that had everyone on the stage smiling.
The two were attending the closing ceremony of the centenary celebrations of the Patna High Court. PM Modi sat on the dais with Union Law Minister Sadanand Gowda and Chief Justice of India TS Thakur, while Mr Kumar sat with Bihar governor Ram Nath Kovind, on the other side of the podium.
Mr Kumar was the chief ministerial candidate and the face of the Grand Alliance formed between his party JD-U, Lalu Prasad Yadav's RJD and the Congress while the BJP-led NDA chose to go with PM Modi's face and his development agenda in the state elections last year. The alliance won 178 of the 243 states in the state and the NDA finished with 58.
Speaking at the function Mr Kumar said, "the Centre and State should work together and we are committed for a free and independent judiciary." He also requested Mr Gowda to release funds on time and thanked PM Modi for sparing time for the function.
"In the present we have something that we didn't earlier: the power of technology," Prime Minister Modi said and asked for making the bar, bench and courts "technologically savvy."
"Google is a bar member, who digs out exactly what you need for your cases," PM Modi said.
He then left for Hajipur to flag off a host of railway projects. Mr Kumar was also present there.
