Who is Madan Tamang?

Madan Tamang was a senior leader of Akhil Bharatiya Gorkha League (ABGL).

Akhil Bharatiya Gorkha League  is a 41-year-old organization which has a strong following among ex-servicemen in Darjeeling.

Of late, many members of the ABGL had switched over to Gorkha Janamukti Morcha (GJM).

Gorkha Janamukti Morcha has been opposed to ABGL since it sees itself as the sole representative of the Gorkhaland demand.
