Tahawwur Hussain Rana, suspected Lashkar operative plotting terror attacks in India with David Headley, is Pakistan-born now a Canadian citizen living in Chicago.
He owns many businesses including First World Immigration Services which has offices in Chicago and Canada. This company made travel arrangements for operatives to survey potential terror targets.
Rana also owns a farm and a meat products store in Chicago. Headley was sent to Germany to buy butchery equipment for this store. On his way back Headley stopped in Copenhagen.
The FBI arrested Rana last month, he is charged with conspiracy to provide material support for foreign terrorism. The case is based on recorded phone calls, emails, highway toll records and surveillance, most of the conversations were in the Urdu.
Now, Rana has applied for bail saying he was framed. The case comes for hearing on November 19.
