When employees at a courier office in Ajmer forced open a steel trunk because it was stinking, they were not expecting to find a dead body inside.
The package was dispatched from Delhi during the World Cup finals. The man who handed over the trunk to the courier company's Delhi office is barely visible on security cameras. (
Watch: Did this man courier a dead body?) He was accompanied by a rickshaw driver, who has also not been tracked down yet by the police.
15 families from Delhi have responded to the police's request to get in touch if a female family member has gone missing in the last month. The victim is believed to be between 19-30 years old.
Two Delhi families visited Ajmer today to see if the victim was related to them. A police official in Ajmer says they were not able to identify the body because of its "defaced condition."
