Agra: With just under two weeks left for the Lok Sabha poll outcome to be known, BSP supremo and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati on Tuesday made a strong pitch for her to be a potential prime ministerial candidate.
"If the Congress and BJP can make any Tom, Dick and Harry prime minister, why can't a Dalit's educated daughter be prime minister," said Mayawati, who has nursed an ambition to get the country's top political post.
Addressing an election rally in the city of Taj Mahal, Mayawati said, "Today, everybody wants to become the prime minister of the country."
Her comments come in the backdrop of the current elections throwing up several prime ministerial contenders.
