Mumbai: Unlike his on-screen avatar Munnabhai, actor Sanjay Dutt isn't surrounded by goodwill in real life.
His home and office are being attached on the orders of the Bombay High Court.
Producer Shakeel Noorani has won a case against Mr Dutt for abandoning his film 'Jaan Ki Baazi' midway. Mr Noorani has claimed Rs 2 crore from the actor, which includes Rs 50 lakh paid to him in 2001 as a signing amount.
Mr Noorani's lawyers say the film is 50 per cent complete because Mr Dutt failed to give dates for the rest of the shoot, costing the producer losses worth 1.5 crores.
Noorani's lawyer says unless Mr Dutt pays up within 30 days, Mr Noorani will have the right to auction the star's residence in Mumbai's posh Pali Hill area and his office in Santa Cruz.
