Chandigarh: Abha Rathore, wife of ex-Haryana DGP S P S Rathore, awarded 18-month prison term recently by a court in the Ruchika Girhotra molestation case, on Saturday met him in the high-security Burail jail in Chandigarh.
Abha, who appeared as a counsel for the former top cop, spent nearly an hour with him in the prison, a jail official said.
She met her husband for the first time in jail after a Sessions Court on May 25 sentenced him to one-and-a-half year imprisonment for molesting teenager Ruchika, a budding tennis player, who later committed suicide.
On Friday, 68-year-old Rathore failed to get any relief as the Punjab and Haryana High Court adjourned hearing on his bail petition to May 31.
The Sessions court had enhanced Rathore's six-month jail sentence, awarded by a CBI court, to 18 months.
