Ranchi: Julie Layak, the wife of the abducted BDO spoke to her husband on Wednesday. "I spoke to my husband on Wednesday, he was fine then.", she said.
Earlier, Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren appealed to the Naxals to free the kidnapped Block Development Officer unharmed at the earliest.
Soren also said the legal process is on for the release some of the arrested persons who the Naxals claimed to be innocent.
"We have looked into the demands made by the Maoists for the release of our BDO. They have demanded the release of tribals. Court hearing is on, with regard to this. The process of their release has started. I appeal to the Maoists, to free our BDO," he said.
It's been six days since the Naxals had kidnapped the officer in Jharkhand.
Naxals had extended the deadline for his release in exchange of their leaders in jail.
They had earlier demanded a statement from the Chief Minister on their conditions to set the BDO free.
