Mumbai: With a large number of stars and corporates urging the Mumbaiites to come out and vote, it can be said that never before have voters been targetted so aggressively.
Yet as voting day approaches, there are worries like the rest of the state, Mumbai may see a low voter turnout; the spoiler being a 4-day weekend.
In the 2004 elections Mumbai saw a rather low 46 per cent voter turnout and after the spurt in registrations this year many believe the turnout this time will be higher.
But perhaps not as high as expected; and hence parties are going door to door asking voters to vote before they vacation.
And the one hook to get the voter to the booth is as Gerson Da Cunha puts forth. "In Mumbai there is one issue and that is 26/11. 26/11 will turn up the heat," says Gerson Da Cunha, Citizens Activist.
