It's a major embarrassment for India. The diplomat, Anil Verma, accused of beating his wife is now in the middle of a diplomatic row.

But sources have confirmed that she has gone missing.
Sources say that after the Dec 11th incident, the couple failed to patch up and Anil Verma left his home in early January.
Source say Paromita's uncle, an Englishman, had threatened Verma when he returned to the flat two days later.
They say his immunity is not being waived because the Indian government will take action on his return and that the UK is questioning India's ability to do that.
