Kollam, Kerala: There is massive mobilisation of police at the Kollam residence of 2008 Bangalore blasts accused Abdul Nasar Madani, amid speculation on whether the Kerala People's Democractic Party (PDP) leader will be arrested or will he surrender before court today.
Madani said he was willing to surrender before the nearest court and that a date would be announced soon. And in the meantime if the police arrived to arrest him, he would cooperate, he said.
Police sources have told NDTV that they were prepared for an arrest.
A medical team, meanwhile, examined Madani on Monday and declared him stable.
PDP supporters have been camping at their leader's residence protesting for the last week that the Bangalore police have been trying to secure Madani's arrest. The number of supporters has now drastically come down from 300 to a mere 60.
The Bangalore police have been in Kerala waiting to arrest Madani in the 2008 Bangalore blasts case ever since a Karnataka court denied him bail. The Kerala police have been treading cautiously to avoid a law and order problem. The Kerala government had also said that it was waiting for President Pratibha Patil's visit to the state to finish before it would clear Madani's arrest.
