New Delhi:
Sushma Swaraj made it clear today that despite the Congress tirade against her, she has no regrets about dancing during her party's recent protest against the crackdown on Baba Ramdev's yoga camp over the weekend.
Ms Swaraj asked tonight if the criticism levelled against her has the consent of Congress President Sonia Gandhi.
She also promised, "We will sing, swing and dance on patriotic songs till our last breath."
The internet, she added, is full of videos of Congress leaders dancing, and re-tweeted this YouTube video of Sonia Gandhi dancing which had been sent to her.
On Sunday, the BJP pulled an all-nighter at Rajghat, which houses Mahatma Gandhi's memorial. Ms Swaraj and some of her colleagues sang and danced. Her performance was questioned first yesterday by Congress leader Janardhan Dwivedi who asked what Ms Swaraj was celebrating.
Earlier this evening, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh continued the Congress' bewildering attack. "She was dancing," he said, "Is she dancing in happiness or anger?" Mr Singh would be advised to note it was not the latter.
"When did the BJP become a party of dancers?" he challenged. "The party should be ashamed... they should apologise to the nation for dancing at Gandhi's Samadhi."
Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah also weighed in on Ms Swaraj today. "Having now seen the videos I have no doubt at all that my dad is a better dancer than Sushma Swaraj. Glad dance now acceptable protest," he tweeted.
