Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh continued to shiver on Sunday, as dense fog and cold wave conditions continued unabated. At least 25 people died since Saturday, taking the death toll due to the extreme cold to 125, officials said.
The winter chill was felt by people across the state, as the day temperature dipped and the sun showed up late in the day.
Dense fog led to delay of many trains and flights, officials said.
Railway officials said that due to dense fog in Delhi, many trains coming from the national capital were running late by 8-10 hours, leading to a major inconvenience to passengers.

Because of this effect, while there would be sunlight in the hills, the plains would feel the chill.
