Winter Session of Parliament: Today is the third day of the on going session.

Parliament held its third sitting of the Winter Session today. The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned on Monday as Congress leaders protested in both the Houses.
Some of the bills Lok Sabha is considering are: The Repealing and Amending Bill, The Repealing and Amending (Second) Bill, The Central Road Fund (Amendment) Bill, The Requisitioning and Acquisition of Immovable Property (Amendment) Bill. And in the Rajya Sabha, the Indian Institutes of Management Bill was passed today.
The winter session, which began last Friday, will have 14 sittings. The session will come to an end on January 5.
Here are the updates for day-3 of the winter session of parliament.
Earlier, a fatal accident was reported on one of the construction sites of Delhi Metro in 2010. Another controversy surrounding Delhi Metro was reported in 2013 when closed-circuit television footage of lovers fondling in empty coaches was leaked on the internet, news agency AFP reported. In April this year, commuters stopped in their tracks at a busy station when X-rated footage began playing on a large TV screen.
The government today also told the Parliament that there was no proposal to make Aadhaar linkage mandatory for property deals.
IIM Bill 2017 declares all IIMs as institutes of national importance. The bill allows the IIMs to give degrees to their students.
Giving details on the IIM Bill, HRD Minister Prakash Javdekar said, "IIM Bill has been passed. Other universities will also be given assistance."

Union minister Kiren Rijiju informed Parliament thataround 40,000 Rohingya migrants were illegally living in India
In a written reply to a question, the Union minister of state for home affairs informed the Lok Sabha that the entry of illegal migrants was clandestine and surreptitious and thus, an accurate figure of how many of them were currently living in the country was not available.
As per an estimate, the number of Rohingya migrants could be around 40,000, he said, adding that none of them had been deported so far.
After an hour-long break, the Upper and Lower Houses resume discussions.
Earlier before adjourning of the Rajya Sabha issue of stubble burning was discussed:
- The issue of choking pollution from stuble burning in Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh was raised through a Zero Hour mention in the Rajya Sabha, to which Congress leader Pratap Singh Bajwa said this was just the cost of 6-7 Rafale jets.
- He said pollution in the national capital has become a "national shame" and steps should be taken to tackle it.
- He also mentioned that farmers needed support and should be given Rs 200 per quintal extra to get rid of crop residue in eco- friendly way. And a financial support to stop stubble burning should be given.
Both the houses, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha adjourned till 2:00 pm.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today stoutly defended the move to set up fast-track courts for dealing exclusively with criminal cases against politicans, saying law makers should take the lead in setting an example.
Responding to opposition concerns in the Rajya Sabha over the message setting up of special courts to try politicians will send, he said Caesar's wife must be above suspicion.
Mr Jaitley, who is also the Leader of the House, said he was of the personal opinion that like Caesar's wife, law makers should be above suspicion.

The proceedings of the Lok Sabha were adjourned for nearly 30 minutes today amid slogan- shouting by Congress members demanding an apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his remarks against his predecessor Manmohan Singh.
- Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan says to protesting parliamentarians the election has ended and the results or politics shouldn't spill into the House.
- Opposition leaders chant slogans in Lok Sabha, demanding that Prime Minister Modi apologise to Manmohan Singh for insinuating that the former PM was colluding with Pakistan in the Gujarat polls.
- Parliamentary affairs minister Ananth Kumar appeals to Congress leaders to go back to their seats and participate in the Question-Answer round instead of gathering in the Well of the House.
After ruling Bharatiya Janata Party's win in the both Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh election yesterday, today's session of parliament winter session began.
